The layout

The club's OO gauge layout of Wantage Road station: a green tank engine and two coaches at the platform, the stone station building and canopy, the goods yard and open wagons to the left, and a painted backscene of the town behind.

The layout is Wantage Road station as it was in about 1960, in OO gauge, twenty-two feet long. There is the station, the goods yard and the cattle dock, and the Wantage Tramway running off the end of the platform towards the town, although the tramway closed in 1945 and so has no business being on a layout set in 1960. The club has been arguing about this for twelve years.
